Physical Electronics User Meeting Recap

On the week of September 9th, we were excited to host a PHI User Meeting here in Chanhassen, Minnesota!

35 users came together and shared presentations of their works and research with all of the other users over the day and a half long user meeting. It also gave us the opportunity to present all of the new things happening at Physical Electronics to many of the people that are using our equipment firsthand. Many experiences and suggestions were shared between users and many questions were answered on the wide variety of subjects that were covered in these two days.

Along with the great presentations and discussion that was had during the many presentations, we got to enjoy a bit of fun and socializing as well. Our first night, the group enjoyed a nice evening at the Bakken Museum in Minneapolis, where everyone got to enjoy the exhibits, the beautiful West Winds mansion and a nice dinner followed by a great presentation by our Keynote speaker, Dr. Donald Baer. For those that stuck around for the second night, we enjoyed dollar hot dog night at the Minnesota Twins baseball game in downtown Minneapolis!

To wrap up the week, there was training offered for XPS, AES, and TOF-SIMS data reduction, as well as PLS Toolbox training on Friday.

All of the presentations, discussions, socializing that took place over those 4 days wouldn’t be possible without our Users. We hope you enjoyed your time in Minneapolis, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the next U.S. PHI User Meeting in 2021!
