SWAGELOK CENTER FOR SURFACE ANALYSIS OF MATERIALS, CWRU installs PHI TRIFT V nanoTOF

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE) administers the Swagelok Center for Surface Analysis of Materials (SCSAM) at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). SCSAM is a multi-user analytical facility providing instrumentation for microstructural characterization of materials as well as surface and near-surface chemical analysis.

As part of a "Wright Project" entitled "Case Center for Surface Engineering," SCSAM has purchased a time-of-flight secondary-ion mass spectrometer. The new instrument, PHI TRIFT V nanoTOF, is the latest generation of PHI's surface analysis line of ToF-SIMS instruments, utilizing a newly developed, high-quality "TRIFT" analyzer.
