New PHI Scientist: Kateryna Artyushkova
September 17, 2018
Introducing the newest member of the PHI Lab - Kateryna Artyushkova! Kateryna comes to us from the University of New Mexico where she was a Research Associate Professor in the Chemical and Nuclear Engineering Department and Associate Director of the Center for Emerging Energy Technologies. With 2 decades of XPS experience, she will be focused on the XPS product line, working closely with Jenny Mann and Ben Schmidt.
Her research expertise encompasses the following:
- Accelerating material design through structure-to-property modeling and characterization of functional materials using ex-situ and in-situ spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.
- Surface spectroscopic analysis using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy of multicomponent heterogeneous inorganic, organic, bio-materials
- Surface spectroscopic analysis using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy for energy and environmental applications
- Post-mortem analysis of chemistry and morphology of devices
- Operando and in-situ spectroscopic tools for reaction at the surfaces
- Image processing tools for extracting quantitative morphological metrics from microscopic images
- In-situ Raman for reactions at the surfaces
- Multivariate analysis of spectroscopic and imaging datasets
- 3D data visualization of morphology in relationship to transport phenomena
- Methods of separating morphological information at hierarchy of scale
- Covering all scales of dimensions by combining multiple microscopic techniques and image processing
